What kind of videos do you produce?
We create a range of videos from ads, fashion films, music videos, commercial videos, social media content, events, interviews, short films and live performances.
How much does the video production cost?
Let’s start with the question we get asked the most! For video, the answer depends on several things, for example:
* Whether we’re filming in one location or several
* How long we need to allow for filming and how large a crew we need
* How complex the edited video is – especially if it involves animated elements
* Whether we’re producing a single video or several related videos
For animation, the costs will depend on:
* The style and complexity of animation (for example 2D versus 3D)
* Whether we are working with existing assets such as characters or whether these need to be created from scratch
* The duration of the final animation
Most importantly, we work with clients who have a range of budgets, so whatever your requirements we can find a solution.
Contact us today and we can talk through your options before providing a detailed proposal and cost breakdown.
What does the video production process involve?
Every project can be broken down into three phases:
Pre-production: This is when we work with you to learn all about your business and together define what it is you need from the video and start preparing everything for the shoot, from moodboards and storyline, location, talent, crew, gear, props etc.
Production: The time we spend capturing all the required footage – such as interviews, events, acted scenes, or product shots.
Post-production: This is the editing process. Cutting and piecing the footage together and adding graphics, titles and music to create a cohesive story per the client’s requirements.
How long will a project take?
From our experience, most projects can be finalised in approximately 4 weeks. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer that can be given to this before having a clear understanding of the client's requirements. The time spent on a project can change depending on what sort of editing is necessary, do we need to add special effects, and animations, how long is the video, and how many days of footage we need to work through. The more complex the video the longer it may take. For simpler videos, it may take a week and for more complex videos it may take 4 weeks.
What happens at the initial meeting?
We discuss the project to get a clearer understanding of your requirements, needs, ideas, target audience, and other requirements to figure out the scope of work, and necessary preparations such as location, talent, and crew to give you an appropriate quotation.
What do you mean by a boutique production company?
We are a boutique Production company because we focus on providing personalised service with a great focus on client communication and bringing the client´s vision to life. We have a small team of dedicated experts and work closely together to produce high-quality videos.
How large is your crew for filming?
It all depends on the type of job. For simple projects, we can provide a ‘self-shooting’ videographer, who will work alone to capture all the necessary footage.
On more complex productions we will adapt the number of crew members as necessary, Most jobs will require 3 man crew consisting of a Director, a Camera operator, and an assistant. This ensures a better workflow and allows for higher production value. For Larger more complex filming requirements we may also recommend extra crew members, such as additional camera operators, sound tech, lighting specialists, stylists, Makeup artists, drone operators, etc. These will all be billed separately in our quote.
How much input do you require from us?
After an initial meeting where you explain the project to us and we find out exactly what you wish for and what is required you can be as involved as you like. Some clients which to hand over the project completely while others prefer to be fully involved. We are happy to accommodate both options and will always keep you informed throughout the entire process.
If you already have a script and storyboard in mind we are happy to bring your vision to life as per your wishes.
Do you add voiceovers and music?
Not all projects require Music or Voiceover, however, we will discuss this in the initial meeting and can certainly provide for Voiceover artists. For Music, we will provide songs from a royalty-free website and will add the license for you to use wherever you want.
Can you add subtitles to your videos?
Yes, if requested we can create subtitles for the videos. This can be supplied in two ways. Either as part of the video so that they will always appear, or we can create a separate subtitle track that can be added to YouTube and other platforms and can be turned on and off as needed.
What kind of equipment do you use?
We film everything on professional 4K Cameras as well as high-end, lighting kits, and microphones to give you a high-quality image and sound.
In what format will I receive my video files?
We usually supply the final edits in the most commonly used formats, typically .mp4 or .mov. We can however provide it in any other format should you require so. Depending on the purpose of the video we can give a high resolution and we can supply adaptations for social media which give the best possible image on your social platforms.
Do you keep copies of your projects?
We generally keep backup copies of any footage and project files for a minimum of 2 years and only use it for marketing purposes of our capabilities. Should you wish to own the complete footage we are always happy to discuss and or delete it if necessary.
Is there a cost per minute?
Our approach to costing is more time based and depends on the size of the crew and the length of the project. Some 30-second videos may require multiple days to shoot and some longer event videos may have only taken a few hours to record.
When creating a quote we take into consideration the preproduction, filming, and post-production to give an accurate quotation.
What is the video production process?
There are 3 primary phases to making a video: pre-production, production, and post-production. In the Pre-Production phase, we begin with a thorough audit/interview session to best understand the client’s audience, goals, competitive advantage, strengths and weaknesses, how the video will be shown, and a host of other variables. This discovery informs the writing and approach. Casting, location scouting, scheduling crew, and prepping gear, if necessary, all also occur during pre-production. The Production phase is when the original shooting if any, will occur. Once production is completed, or immediately after pre-pro, if no original production is required, is the Post-Production phase. This is when all editorial, animation/effects, graphics, music, and narration (if necessary) are completed. When post-production is done, so is the video!
We need recording but don’t need editing, can you help?
If you would like us to capture the footage but want to edit it by yourself or someone specific we are more than happy to help out and provide you with all the footage in original format.
Can you shoot in vertical format?
Yes, we can shoot as per your preference. It is becoming more and more popular to shoot in Portrait or vertical form as people use these videos to advertise their business on social media
Do you travel for shoots?
Yes, we have had many projects which required traveling to different locations. We try to adapt the size of the crew to be as cost-efficient as possible without compromising on quality or production value.
Is video really necessary for my marketing plan?
Absolutely! Today, video is everything. More and more we choose and prefer to receive information and to learn through video content. It is a powerful tool to create emotion and relay information. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, then how much are a thousand pictures worth? That is what video is.
Additionally, video content can improve your website SEOs.
Do I own the rights to my video?
Yes. When the video is finished and approved, it’s yours to use anywhere you want. however, we do not give the raw footage
Do you film events?
Yes, we often shoot events small and large and can provide one or multiple videographers depending on the size of the event.
What are the payment terms?
We usually charge 50 percent at the time of signing our contract and 50 percent after the video is finalised.
If there is something I would like to change can I change it?
With every video production project, we give two reviews free of charge, meaning we will create a first draft for you to review and give us feedback. We will then implement the feedback and give you a second draft to review and give us feedback and then we deliver the final product. Should you need more reviews or should you wish to shoot additional scenes, this would be extra billable work.
Do you also take pictures?
We provide both video and photography services. If you just want to book a photoshoot we can happily assist. We have great in-house photographers and also work with other photographers on a freelance basis.
